Hi, I’m Angelina. I live in Porto, although I’m originally from Ukraine, and I’m the founder of LearnPortuguese.club.
I have been working professionally with the Portuguese language for over ten years. I have a Master’s degree in English linguistics and am a trained translator, which naturally led me teaching, researching languages and creating effective learning systems.
Although I always felt enthusiastic about learning Portuguese, when I moved to Portugal, I faced problems such as lack of sources to learn the European version of Portuguese language. I didn’t have much knowledge and couldn’t understand anything whatsoever, consequently, I had to learn it somehow to communicate with local people. As a result, I had to walk through this challenging path by myself.
From my experience , I can affirm that learning a language may be hard even if you already speak several languages as every language is different by its grammar, pronunciation and even construction of the sentences, which makes the process even more complex than it seemed before. Also, I can certainly understand how hard it might be sometimes to start speaking to natives without any fear of being misunderstood or of pronouncing some words incorrectly.
My dream has always been straightforward: to establish a project that brings together people who want to speak clear, authentic European Portuguese — not some simple textbook phrases, but living, natural language you can use every day.
